Beautifully flawed

Hi folks out there

Okay, I admit it has been a very long time since

you have had the opportunity to read about dear old Potschochter's life.

Well, here you are.

Today has been one of the monthly planned meetings for Potschochter with his boss.

This is the time when topics that emerge during the past weeks are determined to be discussed.

Potschochter was really proud of himself for being kind of prepared by having a list of topics, inluding some thoughts on them.

One of those topics was Potschochter's apperent inability to modify entered data within a list of contacts or even add a new one.

Potschochter thought that this was due to missing privileges for modifying.

His boss tried it himself and he has been able to do this task.

Guess what.

Potschochter has had the dull idea that it could be enough just to enter a name into a new data form in Outlook. He has tried it several times before. But it had not worked out.

During the meeting with his boss, his boss tried it himself and yes his boss acted instincively and entered an e-mail adress, as well.

Well it turned out that in an Outlook data form you have to enter an e-mail, to get outlook realize that there is a new data.

It has been a very emberassing moment for Potschochter.

Thank heavens his boss was not judgy at all. He simply said, that now the problem was solved.

A former version of Potschochter had took this incident to beat himself up for several weeks.

But the new Potschochter who actually has learned to put grace upon himself took this event as step furhter to his goal. Though there are baby steps, Potschochter is grateful.

You've got to keep in mind that this little Potschochter has spent half of his life raising two daughters and was given the opportunitiy to take part in the big world outside of his home.

It is nearly one year ago when he got hired for this halt-time- job.

Why am I sharing this embarassing moment? It is one of my missions to show that humans all over the world have their strengths but also their flaws. In todays society, only the perfect looking and perfectly acting humans are the ones to be recognized.

But I do not think that this is how life is meant to be. This is the point where I have to mention one of Potschochter's favourite books called.  "You are special" by Max Lucado.

This book is to be worked with at every age humans experience. There even is a youtube video on it.: "You are Special" by Max Lucado.

While typing those lines Potschochter remembers that yesteray he accidentally met his former teacher from college.

The one who is to blame for Potschochter's drive to learn coding.

Due to the fact that this really cool and human teacher who was totally honest with Potschochter and

who acted as a mentor during his diploma thesis, introduced good old Potschochter to Python, a whole new world that needs to be

discovered opend up to Potschochter.

Potschochter is not able to express his gratitude for this teacher. Potschochter recalls one situation during a lesson where they

had to do some hands on learning on switches.

Potschochter is a shy simply call in withdrawn kind of guy who never dares to do things he has never done before.

Yes this fear of failure has had its clingy and narrowing hold of Potschochter since Potschochter has been able to think.

This teacher who was a master of observing how his students act during a task, answered to a question of Potschochter,'

that Potschochter simply has ot try it. Potschochter replied, that he does not want to blow this task.

In a very kind but honestly very straight way his teacher said, some kind like this:

"Failure, Failure what the heck. No one learns without failures. Don't imprison yourself by this fear of failure. Just try it.

Either it will work out, or it won't. Than just try a different approach. Try until you reach your goal"

And those words instantly popped up in Potschochters mind as he watched his boss doing this task of creating a new data inside an Outlook Contact list.

Thank you dear Mister G.S. In a very strange way, Potschochter tries to turn failures into something he can be proud of.

You may ask why. Well, it indicates that Potschochter at least has tried something new. And avery failure drwas Potschochter closer to his goal!

Life is there to be kind to your people, your environment but don't you dare to forget to be kind to yourself, as well.

One tip for my audience:

Learn to celebrate every small step you have achieved, and be patient with yourself and your people.

Blessings from Potschochter's vessel.
